Directory service is a software system that stores user,computer and Network resource information in Central place and provides access to information in a computer operating system’s directory.

Directory Service have two component

1) Logical Component: Logical component have 5 major areas to have information

{Forest, Tree, domain, Organization Unit, Site Object }

2) Physical component: There are two physical component.

{Sites and subnets, Domain controller}
